Orientation Week for exchange students

Orientation Week is organised one week before each semester. Students from Erasmus Student Network prepare a variety of events to welcome new exchange students and help them in their first days.

Every foreign student has her/his Mentor (also called a "Buddy") who would pick them up from the airport or railway station and help with accomodation.

The program of Orientation Week usually includes info meetings, a course of "Survival Polish", city rally game, visit in a coal mine or Tyskie Breweries, and a lot of integration events and parties.

At the end of Orientation Week there is a Global Village - a party during which representatives of each country present their typical national costumes, food, sweets, drinks, songs, dances etc.

Orientation Week is a great opportunity to get to know Poland and Silesia better and integrate with all the students. Get ready for great adventure!

Integration Week for full-time students

Integration Week for full-time international students (both Bachelor's and Master's degree) is organised one week before inauguration of a new academic year.

With the help of Polish students ("Guarding Angels") international students get to know the region, city and University. During the Integration Week there is an official welcome ceremony hosted by the Vice-Rector for Education and International Cooperation, visits at the Silesian Museum, coal mine and breweries as well as many integration games and parties.

At the end of Integration Week full-time students join exchange students from all over the world during a Global Village and present their traditional costumes, food, drinks etc.

The language of Integration Week is Polish.
