Professor Stefan Seuring, PhD

Stefan Seuring is full professor of supply chain management at the University of Kassel, Germany. Stefan is one of the globally leading authors on sustainable supply chain management, but also covers topics on supply chain strategy and the application of management accounting tools across supply chains. So far he successfully supervised 20 PhD students. In 2016, Stefan Seuring was listed among the 27 globally most-influential researchers in logistics and supply chain management by a panel of French Researchers. Stefan has collaborated interdisciplinary in research project with colleagues from agriculture, engineering and political sciences. His papers have appeared e.g. in Journal of Cleaner Production, International Journal of Production Economics, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Operations and Production Management.

Professor Jacek Szołtysek, PhD

Jacek Szołtysek is a full professor, head of the Department of Social Logistics of the University of Economics in Katowice (Poland). His research interest has been focused on the potential of logistics in urban management, health care, humanitarian actions and other social logistics applications for more than 15 years. He initiated new research directions in the field of logistics, reverse logistics and a new area of ​​logistics - social logistics. He is the author of 7 academic textbooks and 6 scientific monographs, 57 chapters in scientific monographs, over 130 scientific articles published in Poland and abroad. He is the scientific editor of 17 scientific papers. He was awarded with the awards of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the Association of Communications Engineers and Technicians of the Republic of Poland, the Rector of the University of Economics in Katowice, the Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics. His textbook: "The Basics of Urban Logistics. Second Edition expanded "in 2008 received the Journalist Special Award for the best academic textbook. His book “City logistics” published in 2016 was awarded the scientific prize of Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education in December 2017.

Professor Federico Caniato, PhD

Federico Caniato is Full Professor of Supply Chain and Purchasing Management at the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano. He earned a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Management Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. He is the director of the International Master in Supply Chain and Procurement Management of MIP Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business. Federico Caniato is member of the board of the European Operations Management Association (EurOMA). He authored several international publications on various Operations and Supply Chain Management journals, and he is Associate Editor of the Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management. The research interests of Federico Caniato are in the field of Supply Chain and Purchasing Management, in the last years he has focused on Supply Chain Finance, Supply Chain Sustainability and Supply Chain Resilience. He focused in particular on the Food and Fashion industries. He is the director of the Supply Chain Finance Observatory, the leading research initiative in Italy on the topic, in close collaboration with the international Supply Chain Finance Community. He is also one of the directors of the Food Sustainability Observatory.

Professor Gyöngyi Kovács, PhD

Gyöngyi Kovács is the Erkko Professor in Humanitarian Logistics and is the Subject Head of Supply Chain Management and Social Responsibility at the Hanken School of Economics, in Helsinki, Finland. She is a founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management (JHLSCM) and is on the editorial board of several other journals. She led the Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Research Institute (HUMLOG Institute), Hanken School of Economics since its establishment in 2008 until 2014. She has published extensively in the areas of humanitarian logistics and sustainable supply chain management. 

Professor Gerald Reiner, PhD

Gerald Reiner holds a doctorate degree and habilitation in Business Administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria). Between 2007 and 2014 he was full professor in Production Management and Logistics at the University of Neuchatel (Switzerland). He is currently full professor in Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria). His research interests include Production and Operations Management & Planning, Supply Chain Management & Planning, and Performance Measurement. He published in international journals like, e.g., Production and Operations Management, Decision Support Systems, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Operations Management Research, Journal of Cleaner Production, International Journal of Management Reviews, Journal of Industrial Ecology, OR Spectrum.

Professor Gyula Vastag, PhD

Gyula Vastag is Professor and Director of the Management PhD Program at Széchenyi University (Győr, Hungary) and Professor (part-time) at the National University of Public Service (Budapest, Hungary). Born in Hungary, he earned Ph.D., and Doctor of Sciences degrees from the predecessor of Corvinus University of Budapest, from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and finished habilitation at Corvinus University. Dr. Vastag co-authored five books (by Elsevier, Pearson and the National Association of Purchasing Management), wrote eight business cases, and he has contributed chapters to about 20 books. His papers (30+ refereed journal publications) were published in a variety of peer-reviewed academic (including five papers in the Financial Times list of Top Journals) and professional journals in the United States and in Europe and in numerous conference proceedings. He is Founding Member, Member of the Executive Board (since 2009) and President of the European Decision Sciences Institute (2017-2018). Currently, he is member of the European Operations Management Association’s Board.
