Expert lecture and debate for students of Primary School No. 10 with an integration department in Nysa

On April 19, 2021, a 2-hour expert lecture was organized in conjunction with a debate for students of Primary School No. 10 with the integration department in Nysa, entitled "Time value of money". The meeting was chaired by Dr. Danuta Kozłowska-Makóś. The aim of the meeting was to familiarize young people with the subject of managing their own money and to conduct a debate as part of the NBP's "Giants of personal finance" project.

On 24-28 February, 2020 Danuta Kozłowska-Makóś, Ph.D. stayed as a scholar of the Erasmus+ program at the Lapland University of Applied Sciences, Rovaniemi (FINLAND). Our employee conducted a series of lectures on "Financial Liquidity Management" for I degree students.

On 24-26 April, 2019 Danuta Kozłowska-Makóś, Ph.D. stayed as a scholar of the Erasmus+ program at the Iniversité Bretagne Occidentale (UBO0, IUT Quimper in France. Our employee conducted a series of lectures on "Working Capital Management" for I degree students.

The first edition of a competition for students: Strategy – Analysys – Decision (SAD)

 

On 24th of May the final of SAD competition took place. The competition is organized by the Department of Corporate Finance and Insurance and the Department of Accounting under auspices of the Dean of the Faculty of Finance. Competition task was to prepare a proposal for solution of financial decision problem basing on the knowledge on financial reporting and financial analysis.  Nine teams (34 students) participated in the competition. The results are:

II place -  team „Power Rangers” (Michał Jurczyk, Robert Wróbel, Paulina Bytnar, Natalia Szendzina)

III place - team „Alternatywy 3” (Joanna Krawczyk, Anna Cieślik, Ewa Buczyniak)

OUR LECTURES PARTICIPATED IN THE INTENSIVE PROGRAM SUSTAINABLE BANKING AND FINANCE

On 8-13 April 2018, Anna Doś, Ph.D, Joanna Błach, Ph.D., and Danuta Kozłowska-Makóś, Ph.D. stayed as a scholar of Erasmus +Programme

 

Anna Doś, Ph.D., Joanna Błach, Ph.D. and Danuta Kozłowska-Makóś, Ph.D., together with students and doctoral students from Faculty of Finance and Insurance, participated as a lecturer and coach in an intensive didactic program on Intensive Program Sustainable Banking and Finance in Prague (Czech Republic). The program was also attended by lecturers and students from the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain. During the program, students - with the support of lecturers - in international groups prepared projects related to the main topic of the program. The topic run by Anna Doś, Ph.D. together with Danuta Kozłowska-Makóś, Ph.D. was Social Responsible Investment (SRI). The first place was taken by the team of Joanna Błach, Ph.D. on Corporate Governance.    

 

 

 

Our lecturer as Visiting Professor in Hungary

On 25-29 April 2016. Dr. Joanna Błach stayed as a scholar  of Erasmus + Programme at the Faculty of Economics, Széchenyi István University in Gyor.

At the invitation of Prof. Katalin Varga Kiss  Dr.Joanna Błach conducted a series of lectures about "Financial Markets and Instruments with Introduction to Investment Portfolio Decisions" for the bachelor and master students of the Faculty of Economics. This visit was also an opportunity to deepen cooperation between our department and partner  university p, both in teaching and research.

OUR STUDENTS AND LECTURES PARTICIPATED IN THE II INTERNATIONAL PROJECT WEEK BERLIN 2016

On 7-11 March 2016 our lecturers: Joanna Błach, PhD and Monika Wieczorek-Kosmala, PhD were participating in the II International Project Week Berlin 2016 organised by the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin).

International Project Week  is an international competition for students organized for the first time last year jointly by the Berlin School of Economics and Law and the University-College Odisee, Brussels.  Our students and lecturers were invited to participate in this year’s edition. Nearly 90 students from Berlin, Brussels and Katowice, working in 15 international teams were solving a case study competition in the field of logistics and financial strategy of the company. The jury composed of Prof. Werner Sohn (Berlin School of Economics and Law), Prof. Katleen Dirickx, Jort Van Schil and Jacques Vanwyck (University-College Odisee, Brussels) and Joanna Błach, PhD, Anna Kuzior, PhD and Monika Wieczorek-Kosmala, PhD (University of Economics, Katowice) awarded victory team of our students: Sylwia Chrapek and Kamil Świątkowski (Faculty of Finance and Insurance).

The next edition of the competition will be hosted by our Faculty of Finance and Insurance (III International Project Week KATOWICE 2017).
