About the Project
The "Understanding Green Transformation: Prof. Johannes Jager" project aims to increase the scientific potential and research activity of our University's academic staff by continuing joint research on the just transition and increasing its internationalization. The issue of just transition is significant from the regional perspective, as Silesia will be one of the biggest beneficiaries of EU funds through the Just Transition Fund, among others. The invited researcher is an expert with an established academic position in just transition, which aligns with the central theme of " Understanding Just Transition," a continuation of the research initiated by the Professor's visit in 2024. Thanks to the cooperation with Prof. Johannes Jäger, co-editor of the book Understanding Green Finance, published in 2024, a scientific paper has been developed and written, and spaces for further joint research have been developed. The project's scope also aligns with the current undertakings of the Faculty of Finance and the Faculty of Spatial Economy and Regions in Transition. This includes, amongst others, a research grant obtained from the Visegrad Fund V4 named "Real estate market and sustainability issues related to the dominance of residential assets in pension portfolios" and the inclusion of Prof. Jäger in the document prepared by our University’s employees for the next six-month Polish presidency in the Council of the European Union (White paper).
The project was initiated and prepared by dr hab. Ewa Dziwok, prof. UE, with the support of Internationalization.
The project has been co-financed by the Metropolis GZM within the framework of the "Metropolitan Science and Education Support Fund" program for the years 2022-2024. All planned activities will be carried out in 2025. The total value of the project is PLN 53.757,00.
