About the project

Bauhaus4EU is an alliance within the European Universities initiative, which brings together 10 universities from across Europe, including the University of Economics in Katowice.

The goal of the Bauhaus4EU project is systemic, structural and sustainable cooperation between the alliance's universities, resulting in the development of new solutions beyond existing cooperation models. The project is scheduled to be inaugurated on a very special day for our University, i.e., January 13, 2025. - during University Day.

    Specific goals

    • Creating a Joint European Campus that promotes collaboration among universities and regional stakeholders.
    • Encouraging international partnerships to address the regional challenges of green transformation and enable mutual cultural exchange.
    • Fostering Future Skills and lifelong learning through integrated curricula focusing on sustainability, digitization and innovation, preparing students for the evolving labor market.

    Major activities

    • Educational Innovation: Development of flexible curricula and interdisciplinary programs, incorporating sustainability and digital transformation. Emphasis is on innovative, challenge- and research-based, interdisciplinary learning, joint European degrees, and micro-credentialing for lifelong learners.
    • Regional Innovation Hubs: Digital hubs connect universities with local stakeholders, fostering collaborative research and entrepreneurial ventures.
    • Cultural and Social Engagement: The alliance encourages social justice, democratic values, and intercultural competence, shaping European identity.
    • Digital Infrastructure: A shared digital platform (BAUHAUS4EU Digital Campus) and mobility tools, like the European Student Card, enhance inter-university collaboration and accessibility

    Benefits and impact

    The project will directly impact:

    • Students (124,000 in total), who will gain intercultural competence, multidisciplinary education and Future Skills in an international setting.
    • University staff (10,000 across partner institutions), who will benefit from increased mobility, collaborative research opportunities, and professional development.
    • Regional stakeholders, including local governments, business partners, and cultural institutions, which will benefit from innovative solutions and regional collaboration on an international level.

    Results

    • Educational mobility: Seamless mobility for students and staff across the alliance promotes intercultural exchange and diverse educational experiences.
    • Regional development: By addressing local challenges through collaborative research and sustainable practices, the alliance contributes to the development of regions.
    • Employability and lifelong learning: Equipping students and professionals with entrepreneurial and specialist skills enhances their career readiness and adaptability in a rapidly changing world.
