On 29th of September 2016 took place the inauguration of the 2016/2017 academic year, which launched the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the University of Economics in Katowice.
The anniversary year will offer the academic community an opportunity to participate in and enjoy a series of celebratory events.
The unofficial start of the anniversary took place during the celebrations commemorating the 150th anniversaryof the birth of Karol Adamiecki, the patron of the university in the years 1972-2009 and one of the founders of scientific management. On March 17, a formal academic session was held to mark the occasion. Officially, however, the anniversary year started with the inauguration of the 2016/2017 academic year and will culminate in the University Day on January 11, 2017. The anniversary celebrations will feature a seriesof events and a number of scientific publications.
