On 11th of March 2019 Dr. Indranarain Ramlall (University of Mauritius), realizing a research stay at the Faculty of Economics delivered the Dean’s Lecture on "Central Bank Ratings".

Dr. I. Ramlall presented an original methodology of creating central bank ratings which constitutes the effect of a long-term research on central banks from all over the world. There were 27 metrics taken into account to create ratings, including e.g.: central bank independence, regular stress testing, publication of financial stability reports, consumer price index, scientific research, organization of conferences and scientific seminars, as well as the quality of the central bank’s website. Participants had an opportunity not only to get acquainted with the list of the central banks with highest ranks (with the Bank of Canada occupying the first position on the list), but also with the map of the world summarizing research conducted by Dr. I. Ramlall.

The audience included students and academic staff from the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Finance and Insurance and the Faculty of Management.

On 13th of March 2019 academic staff from the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Finance and Insurance and the Faculty of Management participated in a scientific seminar on "Financial Stability" prepared by Dr. Indranarain Ramlall (University of Mauritius).
