The Rector of the University of Economics in Katowce, professor Robert Tomanek has officially opened the 4th edition of the International Week New Frontiers in Finance and Accounting on 17th October 2016 at 10.00 in the CNTI lecture theatre.
Followed by the Rector, the Dean of the Faculty, professor Andrzej Piosik presented the main goals of the event which are: developing multicultural event which becomes an incentive both for the students and the academic teachers to learn about new and distant countries; also to gain academic knowledge and experiences from working in multinational environment.
This year there are around 150 students and 20 academic teachers from all over the world involved in the International Week. Next to known and liked we managed to invite new Guests who – we hope – will become a vital part of regular teaching staff of the University of Economics in Katowice.
Our Guests represent such countries as: USA, Kazakhstan, Germany, Belgium, Serbia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Russia, Hungary, The Netherlands. Our students are not only Finance and Insurance students. We have invited students from other Faculties and Partner Universities. Students studying in the University of Economics in Katowice under short mobility programme are most welcome to the event. For the first time we suggested a new form of classes: Students choose two sessions. They can easily mix ethics with accounting, taxes with business English, business seminar with finance.
We hope the International Week New Frontiers in Finance and Accounting will become a huge success. The key are the students who, we believe, will be at least satisfied.
