International Week for the 5th time!

On 23rd October Faculty of Finance & Insurance has begun its 5th edition of International Week – New Frontiers of Finance and Accounting.

This multicultural event aims at integrating academic environment of various countries within Erasmus+ framework. The Official Opening of the IW were honoured with the presence of the Authorities of the University of Economics in Katowice represented by Vice-Rector for Education and Internationalisation, professor Sławomir Smyczek and Faculty Authorities: Dean – professor Andrzej Piosik, Vice-Dean for Science – professor Krzysztof Marcinek, Vice-Dean for Bachelor Studies – Anna Kuzior PhD and Vice-Dean for Master Studies – Krystyna Mitręga-Niestrój PhD. In the ceremony participated academic teachers who will deliver classes to the students from such countries as: Holland, Belgium, Germany, Croatia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Italy, Ukraine and Chile. Students and organizers of the event were also present.

After short presentation of the University, warm welcome to all present in the ceremony was addressed by the Vice-Rector for Education and Internationalisation, professor Słąwomir Smyczek and by Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Insurance, professor Andrzej Piosik. Guests and their Universities were presented. There was a little unofficial break for networking provided before the teachers went off for their first classes in this year edition of the International Week.
