UE Katowice comes in 3rd on the "Forbes" ranking list of Poland's best employers
The University of Economics in Katowice made it to the podium by taking 3rd place in the country in the ranking of the "Forbes" magazine - "Poland's Best Employers 2021" in the industry ranking for "higher education and science". The Univeristy placed 43rd in the full ranking. This is the first, just published, edition of the ranking prepared by the Polish economic monthly.
–"We are very happy to be ranked so high among the best employers in Poland, both in the universities category and on the ranking list in general. This confirms that the direction we have taken in our personnel policy since the beginning of the 2020-2024 term brings tangible results. What pleases us the most is the fact that the list was created not only on the basis of working conditions and development prospects, but was primarily based on the opinions of the employees themselves. After all, the University of Economics in Katowice is first and foremost the people, the community and the relations that connect it," – comments the Rector, Prof. Celina M. Olszak, Ph.D., D.Sc.
Who is the best employer in Poland?
The employees themselves were asked to answer this question. "They assessed their employers in an anonymous survey, thanks to which the actual quality of the offered jobs was examined - and not only the success of the employer's branding campaigns. The companies were not able to influence the score obtained in the ranking, as it was not possible to, for example, register their participation by ordering a paid audit service. This guaranteed the complete independence of the study results," claims "Forbes".
The substantive partner of the ranking is Statista - a company that contributes to the most famous "Best Employers" rankings in the world.
The list of the 300 Best Polish Employers was compiled on the basis of a questionnaire made available through online research panels and on the forbes.pl website. According to the magazine, "the survey was completed by a total of over 10,000 employees. The study lasted from September to October 2020 and was based on a list of approx. 1,800 employers employing at least 250 employees in Poland, created by the Statista team."
The key factors influencing the success of the entities included in the list were identified on the basis of nearly 160,000 opinions expressed by respondents on several dozen statements describing the activities of their employers in 7 areas, including:
- Image and growth
- Development and prospects
- Relationship between employees and management
- Working conditions and equipment
- Sustainable development
Among others, readiness of employees to recommend their employer, as well as willingness of employees to recommend other employers in the industry in which they were currently working, were subjects of the assesment. "In addition, respondents assessed their employers on factors such as remuneration, working time, promotion and development opportunities, conditions and equipment for working in the office and in the remote mode," says "Forbes".
