The Choir of the University of Economics in Katowice

• the Choir was created in March 2006;
• the ensemble consists of 60 persons – students, alumni and employees of the University of Economics in Katowice, as well as persons outside the University;
• we sing during academic celebrations, participate in musical projects, regional and special events;
• we participate in contests and choral festivals;
• we won prizes in Polish national contests: in Tychy, Gniezno, Międzyrzecze, Będzin, Bydgoszcz, Myślenice and Kielce, and in international contests: in Eišiškės in Lithuania, in Lloret de Mar in Spain, in Bielsko-Biała, Rybnik, Będzin, Prague in the Czech Republic, Kraków, Warszawa, Banská Bystrica in Slovenia, Barczew, Cieszyn, in Ohrid in North Macedonia and in Olomouc in the Czech Republic;
• we give concerts abroad: Italy (2 times), Spain (2 times), Turkey, Lithuania, France, the Czech Republic (2 times), Slovakia, North Macedonia, China;
• we cooperate with other choirs: the Academic Musical Ensemble of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, SUP’Vocalis from Saint-Etienne, the Cantante Deo Choir operating at the Church of the Holy Cross in Tychy, the Academic Choir of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, the Zabrze Choir “Resonans Con Tutti”, the Rencontres Musicales en Loire Choir from Saint-Etienne and with the Song and Dance Ensemble “Silesianie” of the University of Economics in Katowice;
• we meet at rehearsals two times a week; 
• we perfect our skills during music workshops;
• we perform classical, sacral, pop and folk music;
• we sing in different languages; 
• we released three albums;
• we organize special meetings for the choristers.

Our Conductor is Michał Brożek and the instructors are Natalia Łukaszewicz-Charabin and Kamil Gojowy.

The supervisor of the Choir is Vice-Rector for Education and Internationalization of the University of Economics in Katowice – prof. Sławomir Smyczek, Ph.D.
