International project entitled "Build your startup with Low-Code" [report]

From April 15th to 19th of this year, an international project was carried out on the campus of the University of Economics in Katowice in collaboration with Howest University of Applied Science in Belgium, with the participation of our guests and students from the University of Economics in Katowice. The entire event was supervised by the Vice-Rector for Education and International Relations, Prof. Sławomir Smyczek, Ph.D., and Dean Justyna Ganassali, Prof. UE. The project focused on how to use AI to build and subsequently promote startups in the market.

On the first day, April 15th, participants of the international project "Build your startup with Low-Code" were warmly welcomed by Vice-Rector for Education and International Relations, Prof. Sławomir Smyczek, Ph.D., and Dean Justyna Ganassali, Prof. UE.

Then, Edyta Lachowicz-Santos, Director of the Internationalization Office, and one of our visiting lecturers, Frédéric Vlummens, shared some information about their cities and universities, so that participants from both Belgium and Poland could familiarize themselves with the academic culture and culture of each country.

After a brief introduction, the participants proceeded to project collaboration. Marta Grybś-Kabocik, Ph.D. introduced the project, followed by our second guest, Gene Vangampelaere, who prepared young startup enthusiasts on the topic of AI and Low-Code. At the end of the day, workshops titled "How to build your own startup: opportunities and threats" were conducted by practitioner Franciszek Olejnik.

 

 

Over the following days, April 16th, 17th, and 18th, our guests participated in workshops titled "Developing the concept of your own startup," led by Prof. Sławomir Smyczek, Ph.D., and then engaged in team work on the following topics:

  • "Collecting data for a startup using artificial intelligence: Practical workshops on Prompt engineering" - Gene Vangampelaere;
  • "Creating low-code applications and workflows for startups" - Gene Vangampelaere;
  • "Creating a low-code website for a startup" - Frédéric Vlummens;
  • "Creating promotional materials with AI for a startup" - Marta Grybś-Kabocik, Ph.D.;
  • "Preparing the final version of the startup along with the website and promotional materials" - Justyna Ganassali, Prof. UE.

On the last day, Friday, April 19th, it was time to present the concepts of startups developed by the participants.
Finally, each guest received a personalized certificate of participation in the international project "Build your startup with Low-Code."
