World Cafe Meeting: "All about Ramadan" at Basecamp in Katowice

On March 13, 2024, there was an unusual event - from the World Cafe series - dedicated to Ramadan, organized by Welcome Point and IB Research Club. The meeting began with a fascinating presentation in which Mirna Nabil, an UE Katowice student from Egypt, introduced participants to the ins and outs of this important holiday. We learned about the meaning of Ramadan, its traditions and cultural differences depending on the country. The meeting was held at partner Basecamp, and was attended by students from our University and other universities in Katowice.

After the inspiring presentation, it was time for practice - participants had the opportunity to taste traditional Ramadan food, which was a real culinary experience. However, the event was not limited to satisfying the senses - it was also a time for reflection and exchange of viewpoints. The questions that were asked broadened horizons and deepened knowledge about the holiday.

Once again we became convinced that despite cultural and geographical differences, students are more alike than one might think. It was a unique meeting that not only allowed us to learn new traditions, but also to build new relationships and friendships.

We hope that all participants had a great time. We would like to thank everyone for participating and are already looking forward to the next World Cafe meetings.
