Rules of recruitment and participation in intensive education programs in the project "Creative Education Academy" conducted by the University of Economics in Katowice within the framework of NAWA program "SPINAKER - Intensive International Education Programs".

§ 1 General information about the project

1. The project "Creative Education Academy" is implemented under the non-competitive project of the National Agency for Academic Exchange - "Supporting institutional capacity of Polish higher education institutions through the creation and implementation of international study programs". (No. POWR.03.03.00-00-PN16/18), Action 3.3: Internationalization of Polish higher education, implemented under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development, hereinafter referred to as the “project”.

2. The aim of the project is to increase the level of internationalization of the University by making the teaching offer more attractive for foreign students by adding 3 intensive international education programs.

3. The project is implemented in the period from October 1, 2021 to June 30, 2023.

4. The provisions of these Rules of recruitment and participation in intensive education programs within the project "Creative Education Academy" conducted by the University of Economics in Katowice within the framework of NAWA program "SPINAKER - Intensive International Education Programs", hereinafter referred to as the Rules, concern activities related to recruitment and participation provided for within the project realized by the University of Economics in Katowice, hereinafter referred to as the “University”.

5. As part of the project, 3 intensive international education programs (IP) will be launched:

  1. IP 1 – Gamification of learning,
  2. IP 2 – Digital Boost Camp,
  3. IP 3 – Project Based Learning.

6. Each program is divided into a remote and onsite component and will be conducted in English.

7. The IP participant can be any foreigner with student status, interested in business, marketing and IT, who is:

  1. a student of the second or third year of first-cycle studies (bachelor's degree),
  2. a student of the second-cycle studies (master's degree),
  3. a student of the second, third, fourth or fifth year of a uniform master's degree studies.

The number of participants in one intensive education program is 20.

8. Each participant who completes the IP will receive funding for completing the intensive education program paid in the form of a lump sum scholarship in the amount of PLN 4000 gross.

9. The Rules will be available at the Internationalization Office and will be posted on the project website www.ue.katowice.pl/cea.

§ 2 Rules of recruitment

1. A separate recruitment process will be organized for each intensive education program (IP), preceded by an information and promotion campaign. Relevant activities will be scheduled at the following dates:

  1. IP1 - March 2022,
  2. IP2 - February 2023,
  3. IP3 - March 2023.

2. The recruitment process is open and based on the principle of equal opportunities and non-discrimination.

3. Recruitment will be conducted in accordance with the schedule set out in (1), and the relevant dates will be published on the project website.

4. Applications may be submitted via the recruitment form available on the project website.

5. The recruitment process is managed by the Project Manager, Prof. Sławomir Smyczek, Ph.D.

6. In order to participate in the recruitment process to the IP, it is required to meet the condition specified in § 1, section 7 of the Rules  and to complete the registration form.

7. In case of a higher number of applications, the University reserves the right to conduct interviews using the Google Meet platform.

8. The results of the recruitment process for each program will be announced in accordance with the deadlines specified on the project website. Each candidate will receive information with the results via email.

9. IP participants will receive a set of documents by email, i.e.:

  1. agreement between the participant and the University, attached as Appendix No. 1 to the Rules;
  2. declaration of participation in the project, attached as Appendix No. 2 to the Rules;
  3. personal data form for the project participant, attached as Appendix No. 3 to the Rules;
  4. statement on protection of personal data of the project participant (GDPR) - PO WER, attached as Appendix No. 4 to the Rules;
  5. statement on protection of personal data of the project participant (GDPR) - NAWA, attached as Appendix No. 5 to the Rules;
  6. additional consent of the participant for the processing of personal data, attached as Appendix No. 6 to the Rules.

10. The documents referred to in section 9 should be printed in color, filled out and signed by hand, and then sent to the following address: Internationalization Office University of Economics in Katowice ul. 1 Maja 50, 40-287 Katowice, no later than 3 days before the start date of the program.

11. Submission of documents after the deadline, as well as submitting incomplete documents or failing to provide consent to the processing of personal data will result in the removal of the applicant from the list of project participants.

12. After the end of each recruitment cycle a ranking list is created. The ranking list includes students who qualified for the project and will be entered on the list of Project Participants.

13. If interest in participation in the project will be high, it is possible to create a reserve list.

14. In the case of vacating a place on the list of Project Participants, persons from the reserve list who were drawn will be entered on the list of Project Participants, provided that they meet all criteria for participation in the project. Persons from the reserve list may participate in trainings according to the same principles as persons from the main ranking list.

15. A participant placed on the reserve list must meet the same formal requirements and regulations as the participant qualified for the project at the initial stage of recruitment.

§ 3 Rules of participation in IP

1. Conditions of participation in intensive international education programs (IP) are specified in §1, section 7 of the Rules.

2. Participation in the selected intensive education program (IP) is free of charge.

3. Support provided within the project "Creative Education Academy" includes participation in the intensive program, thanks to which participants gain access to:

  1. materials available on the e-learning platform,
  2. online and offline classes with academic teachers,
  3. activities promoting Polish culture.

4. A participant declaring willingness to participate in the IP undertakes to:

  1. be active on the e-learning platform on a daily basis and to familiarize themselves with the materials made available to them, which will be monitored by UEKat,
  2. participate in online and offline classes on dates specified in the project schedule,
  3. participate in activities promoting Polish culture.

5. Information on the content of each intensive program (IP) will be available during project promotion and during the recruitment process on the project website.

6. In order to complete the IP, a minimum of 80% attendance is required.

7. IP participants have access to training resources via the e-learning platform, in accordance with the project schedule.

8. During the recruitment process, the University will communicate with candidates via email. During the implementation of the project, the University will communicate with project participants by email and through the designated e-learning platform.

9. IP participants agree to take 3 screenshots during online classes conducted within the IP and to take screenshots of the e-learning platform for project documentation purposes.

10. At the end of the project, the participant will receive a certificate that will be sent to the address indicated by the participant and will be awarded 3 ECTS credits.

§ 4 Rules of receiving the scholarship

1. The scholarship is intended to subsidize the costs of arrival and stay during the stationary part of the IP.

2. The scholarship is available to all IP participants in the same lump sum of PLN 4000 gross.

3. In order to receive the scholarship, the agreement referred to in § 2, sec. 9 (1) of the Rules must be signed and executed.

4. The scholarship will be paid in PLN by transfer to the IP participant's account in accordance with the provisions of the agreement referred to in § 2, sec. 9 (1) of the Rules.

 § 5 Other rights and obligations of the Project Participants

1. Resignation from participation in the Project is possible only through submitting a written statement to the Internationalization Office.

2. In case of the Project Participant's resignation from participation in the intensive education programme (IP) to which they have been qualified, they will not be able to participate in the recruitment process to another IP.

3. Project Participants are obliged to use standard project documents containing European Union word mark(s) and the name of the European Social Fund.

4. Project Participants are obliged to familiarize themselves with the content of these Rules and to comply with them during the Project.
