Economics without borders

The aim of the project is to popularize science on an international scale by organizing unique events, which will provide an opportunity for scientific debates, as well as presentations of scientific achievements, research and work of outstanding scientists from around the world.

The project's main activities include three editions of events featuring:

  • scientific debates
  • master-student meetings
  • Global Village
  • speeches popularizing science among young people and the local community

The events are designed to present economic and socio-cultural issues, including aspects of social responsibility and sustainable development, from the perspective of 6 continents (2 for each edition): Europe and Africa; North America and Asia; Australia and South America. In addition, each edition will be accompanied by a Global Village showcasing culture of different continents and master-student meetings.

Invited speakers are prominent scientists from countries such as: Egypt, Spain, France, USA, South Korea, Australia, Chile, Portugal and India. They have been recognized for their exceptional achievements in the field of economic sciences, in particular their work in implementing innovative scientific, teaching and business solutions.

The events organized as part of the project will be held entirely in English, giving them a universal and international dimension. “Economics without borders” will be a one-of-a-kind, large-scale initiative during which the University of Economics in Katowice will become Poland's economic hub. It will be a place to be, where high-class researchers from around the world will share their knowledge, participate in debates and exchange ideas and experience. The project will help identify new opportunities and hidden potential, as well as foster dialogue and engage a wide range of stakeholders, while increasing the efficiency of ongoing activities in the area of economics research and teaching.
