The Faculty of Finance and Insurance held Intensive Program Sustainable Banking and Finance 2017 from 3rd to 7th of April 2017.
It was the fourth edition of intensive program focused on finance and sustainability, previous editions took place in Rotterdam (2014), Madrit (2015) and Ghent (2016). Students and lecturers from the University of Economics in Katowice, Inholland University of Applied Sciences (Rotterdam), University College Ghent, CEU San Paolo (Madrit), London South Bank University and University of Finance and Administration (Prague) formed six international teams which developed research projects focused on six topics within the area of finance and sustainability.
The international teams will submit their paper to a peer reviewed academic journal. During the week the students participated in the lecture provided by Sandra Schoonhoven, Head of Sustainability Programmes, Global Sustainability ING Bank The Netherlands. They also participated in workshop one ethics in accounting lead by prof. Ewa Maruszewska from the University of Economics in Katowice and workshop on intercultural communication delivered by Sarah Dukel from the Inholland University of Applied Sciences (Rotterdam).
The Best paper award was grantem to the international team focused on Corporate governance - bankers bonuses. Team members were: Fernando Brioso de la Rica (CEU Sao Paolo in Madrit), Sylwia Chrapek (University of Economics in Katowice) and Kwint Kramer (Inholland University of Applied Sciences w Roterdamie). The team was coached by Anna Doś, Ph.D , University of Economics in Katowice.
The event was fully supported by the Vice-Rector for Education and Internationalization - Prof. Sławomir Smyczek, Ph.D. and the Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Insurance - Prof. Andrzej Piosik, Ph.D.
The Intensive Program Sustainable Banking and Finance 2017 was organized by Anna Doś, PhD, Department of Corporate Finance and Insurance together with Monika Foltyn-Zarychta, Ph.D., Department of Investment and Real Estate.
