On the 17th February 2020 UE Katowice welcomed 62 foreign students who came to our university from various nooks of the world to study during the spring semester within different exchange programmes.
Students come from 18 countries, such as: Belgium, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Germany, Portugal, South Korea, Taiwan, Slovakia, Romania, Slovenia, France, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Latvia, Colombia and Hungary.
During the Orientation Day students were officially welcomed by the representatives of the School of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies, International Relations Office as well as local students who play the role of “buddies” for short-term exchange students. Afterwards the representatives of the local Municipal Police talked briefly to the students about the basic safety rules they need to follow during their stay in Poland.
After the official part of the event students took part in some ice-breaking games which allowed them to get to know one another and familiarize themselves with the university campus. The last attraction of the Orientation Day was a crash course in Polish language, thanks to which students learnt some basic Polish words and expressions.
