In the short video prof. Maciej Mitręga, PhD, Head of Department of Organizational Relationship Management, talks about the PIETE project. University of Economics in Katowice is one of the partners of the project. PIETE is co-founded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

PIETE project (Partnership for Initial Entrepreneurial Teacher Education) is set to make a substantial contribution in addressing the deficiencies in the development of entrepreneurial competences for a new generation of pre-service teachers.

PIETE intends to accomplish the following objectives:

  1. generate awareness among ITE educators and pre-service teachers for the importance of EE and entrepreneurial competence development for pupils at a secondary school level;
  2. provide a profound knowledge base for better understanding of the EE concepts and tools, what will facilitate ITE educators to apply them in the ITE programs;
  3. foster the exchange among ITE centers to develop suitable EE resources and share their experience in pre-service teacher training;
  4. empirically assess the conceptualization of EE by ITE educators;
  5. stimulate entrepreneurial teaching and learning efforts at schools through educating fully proficient entrepreneurial teachers (a long-term objective).
