From 26 to 30 of April 2021, ten of our students from the International Business course represented our International Business Club, which supervisors are Prof. Sławomir Smyczek, Ph.D., Prof. Justyna Matysiewicz, Ph.D. and Marta Grybś-Kabocik, M.Sc., and took part in an international marketing game called Markstrat. Other participants were from countries like Belgium, Bulgary, Spain, France, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland and Italy. This time, the host was Universidad Cardenal Herrera in Valencia, Spain. This Markstrat edition has got Us silver and brown medals, obtained by our hard-working students!
The 2021 edition was special, because of the pandemic situation, the simulation game took place online. During the Markstrat game, students worked in international groups, divided into four industries. The whole game was coordinated by the lecturers and tutors. Thanks to computer simulations, the participants could gain practical knowledge on strategic marketing decision making processes for companies operating on the global market.
The success of a group was dictated by:
- financial score;
- market shares;
- group work;
- quality of the presentation.
A lot of work and great preparation allowed our Students to succeed and gain in their respective industries: silver medals by Monika Działo and Tomasz Hanysek, and brown medals by Aleksandra Gąska, Dominika Kielesz, Marta Torchała, Maja Zagata, Remigiusz Jander, Lawrence Rhein, Harmeet Singh and Filip Waluś.
Moreover, the organizations appreciated the broad knowledge of the students about the functioning of international business, high competence in soft skills, great engagement during the Markstrat game as well as general openness in working in a multicultural environment.
