On March 18-20 representatives of our University participated in the Global Study Abroad Fair. For the very first time foreign candidates had a chance to meet us virtually. The event was attended by over 4,000 candidates from all over the world, with the largest number of possible future students coming from Africa and Europe!
During the fair, young people interested in studying at our University had the opportunity to talk not only with the representatives of the Admissions, but also with program directors and managers of programs and specializations with English as a language of instruction. Moreover, candidates could dispel any doubts regarding choosing University of Economics in Katowice by consulting employees of the Internationalization Strategy Office.
The University’s students and graduates took an active part and acted as our ambassadors, encouraging candidates to study in Katowice.
"Virtual study abroad fair is a new idea, but it’s fantastic in its simplicity. It’s a direct response to the needs of students from all over the world during these challenging times of a global pandemic. I am glad that I could be a part of this really interesting and enjoyable project. It enabled me to act as a representative of our University and to encourage candidates to choose the UEKat's offer. It was a pleasure to discuss students' expectations and needs, regardless of their origin, culture or even a time zone! I will certainly participate in the next edition of the fair. I firmly believe that the pandemic will soon be over and in the future it will be possible to attend such an event in person" says Bartłomiej Hadasik, a MERCURI program student.
We hope that thanks to participation in this event, in October, new international students will join our Alma Mater community, thus increasing the level of internationalization of the University.
