Department employees organize an open event at Kato Science Corner "Economic Nobel - Prof. "Claudia Goldin"
On the 18th March 2024, an open event took place at Kato Science Corner entitled “Nobel Economics – Prof. Claudia Goldin.” The originator and organizer of the project was Dr Iwona Gorzeń-Mitka in cooperation with Dr Małgorzata Lipowicz. The meeting took the form of an interactive lecture coordinated by the Department's employees, in cooperation with employees of the Faculty of Management of the Częstochowa University of Technology and students operating in scientific circles of the University of Economics ("Start-up" Scientific Circle) and the Częstochowa University of Technology (SKN FaMa Business Leaders Club). Students from the Technical School Complex in Bytom and the Economic School Complex in Bielsko-Biała accepted the invitation to the event. The meeting presented the historical background of the Bank of Sweden Alfred Nobel Prize in economic sciences as well as the profile and scientific achievements of the laureate - prof. Claudia Goldin. An interesting complement to the presentation were films showing Professor C. Goldin's speech and summarizing the achievements of the Laureate. Interactive activities are planned for event participants, including: quiz with prizes. The lecture is part of a series of events organized by the University of Economics in Katowice together with other universities that make up the Academic Consortium "Katowice - City of Science". The event was carried out as part of the initiatives of the Year of Economic Education 2024.
