Participation of the Department's employees in the 13th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE on SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
The 13th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE on SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, organized by the European Center for Sustainable Development in collaboration with the Canadian Institute of Technology University, took place in Rome on September 10-11, 2025. The conference's theme was "Creating a unified foundation for sustainable development: research, practice, and education."
The ICSD 2025 Conference was inspired by key challenges in the area of sustainable development—humans, the environment, and the economy—in relation to current and future global activities. The conference provided a forum for the exchange of ideas, the presentation of research results, and discussions on the practical and political aspects of sustainable development, emphasizing the role of science as a solid foundation for decision-making. The event integrated environmental, economic, social, and cultural perspectives, promoting interdisciplinary approaches and collaboration among researchers, educators, and practitioners. The program encompassed three main themes: economic sustainability (including green financing and the circular economy), environmental sustainability (including biodiversity conservation and renewable energy), and socio-cultural sustainability (including education, public health, and cultural heritage protection). Once again, the conference brought together an international group of researchers who shared their research findings in the form of presentations and posters.
During the conference, Departmentt's employees presented their research:
dr hab. Joanna Błach prof UE, dr inż. Iwona Gorzeń-Mitka, dr Małgorzata Lipowicz: Heterogeneity of ESG Factors in the Context of Economic and Environmental Transformation: A Scientific Mapping of the State of the Art
- dr inż. Iwona Gorzeń-Mitka, : Applying the Cynefin framework to ESG challenges: A conceptual framework for managing sustainability challenges in companies
- dr Małgorzata Lipowicz: Sustainable financing of local government activities through the use of bonds – the perspective of individual investors
The presented research was carried out as part of the project "ESG Transformation of an Enterprise - Financial and Management Perspective" co-financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education under the "Regional Excellence Initiative" Programme.
