1st BAUHAUS4EU PhD Hackathon - Resilient, Inclusive, Sustainable and Beautiful Regions
The 1st BAUHAUS4EU PhD Hackathon is an intensive, interdisciplinary workshop for 20 doctoral candidates and early-stage researchers from partner universities within the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance. Working in teams and within a defined timeframe, participants will develop innovative solutions to regional and industrial challenges related to sustainability. Outcomes may include project proposals, conceptual frameworks, or prototype ideas.
The main purpose of the workshop is to strengthen academic collaboration and promote knowledge exchange among doctoral researchers across partner universities. It aims to address pressing research and societal challenges through collaborative inquiry while fostering open dialogue, interdisciplinary cooperation, and creative idea development across disciplines, institutions, and regions. The workshop encourages participants to engage in meaningful discussions and to work collectively toward sustainable and impactful solutions.
Participants will gain valuable experience in developing concrete, team-based proposals or conceptual prototypes that address regional and industrial challenges related to sustainability. The workshop will support the development of interdisciplinary and intercultural research competencies while enhancing participants’ innovation capacity and creative problem-solving abilities. In addition, participants will strengthen essential professional skills, including project management, effective communication, teamwork, and academic presentation.
The event will conclude with team presentations evaluated by an expert panel. The best solution will be selected, and the winning team will receive a special award, to be announced during the final stage of preparation.
