Deadlines for submitting applications for scholarships in the academic year 2024/2025

To apply for a scholarship or emergency financial aid, you have to:

  1. complete and register the application in the USOSweb system,
  2. print and sign the application and attach the required documents,
  3. make an appointment with the person responsible for handling student benefits for your study program and submit a printed application with attachments (originals for review).

Applications for the need-based scholarship, scholarship for students with disabilities and emergency financial aid can be submitted during the academic year. Following the  Rules and Regulations of determining the amount, granting and paying benefits to students of the University of Economics in Katowice:

  1. period for which the need-based scholarship is paid will be calculated from the month following the month in which the complete application for the scholarship was submitted,
  2. period for which the scholarship for students with disabilities is paid will be calculated from the month in which the complete application for the scholarship was submitted,
  3. student may apply for emergency financial aid along with a set of required documents during the academic year in case of the occurrence of circumstances entitling the student to receive such assistance.

Dates until disability certificates remain valid after the pandemic:

Certificate on disability or certificate on the degree of disability issued for a specified period based on the Act on vocational and social rehabilitation and the employment of persons with disabilities of August 27, 1997 (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 100, 173, 240, 852, 1234 and 1429), the validity period of which would expire:

  • until December 31, 2020
  • January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021, period
  • January 1, 2022, to August 5, 2023, period
  • after August 5, 2023 and before September 30, 2024

remains valid until September 30, 2024, but no longer than the date of issuing the new final disability certificate.

Deadlines for submitting applications:

  1. Applications for the need-based scholarship, Rector's scholarship and scholarship for students with disabilities along with a set of required documents, should be register int the USOSweb system by October 21, 2024. The income entitling to apply for the need-based scholarship in the academic year 2024/25 is PLN 1570.5 net per month per person in the student's family.
  2. Applications for emergency financial aid along with a set of required documents can be submitted starting September 16, 2024. Applications can be submitted during the academic year in case of the occurrence of circumstances entitling a student to receive such assistance.

If the application for the need-based scholarship is submitted after the specified deadline, the period for which the scholarship is paid will be shortened. It will be calculated from the month following the month in which the application was submitted.

Information for students studying in Katowice on how to apply:

To apply for a scholarship, you need to make an appointment through Google Calendarwith the person in charge of your study program. The appointment should be made from an email in the uekat domain, with the following information in the description: name, current study program, scholarship type.

Types of appointments in Google Calendar:

  1. "socjalne/zapomoga" – for students applying for the need-based scholarship and/or emergency financial aid,
  2. "rekt/niepełn" – for students applying for the Rector’s scholarship and/or scholarship for students with disabilities.

In the case of simultaneous submission of applications for the need-based scholarship/emergency financial aid together with the Rector's scholarship/scholarship for students with disabilities, the meeting named "socjalne/zapomoga" should be selected.

Attention

According to the Rules and Regulations, applications should be submitted in Polish. All documents prepared in a foreign language and attached to the application must be translated by a sworn translator into Polish. 

Students who do not hold Polish citizenship and use bank accounts registered outside the Republic of Poland additionally submit Appendix No. 9."
