E-commerce Master’s Degree Program at UE Katowice

The E-Commerce study program gives the student the knowledge and skills in the field of conducting commercial activities on the Internet and the use of social media in line with the expectations of enterprises in the era of electronic economy.

E-commerce is an area of business activity that is still gaining importance as it is a potential source of revenue for both Internet businesses and those that treat e-commerce as an additional product distribution channel. Students will also acquire knowledge about the conditions, ways and principles of conducting business activities on domestic and international markets.

The E-commerce study program is taught in English. It is also distinguished by a practical approach to the content taught, which allows candidates to become familiar with the requirements for graduates in the labor market at this stage of education. Students ending the course have the skills to use the acquired knowledge in practice.

Program structure 

Classes are conducted in the form of lectures, interactive workshops and e-learning classes in English. This study program is an innovative course combining the traditional approach to the field with modern methods of knowledge transfer. The entire program of studies is designed so that the student will gain complete knowledge and skills that will allow for a smooth transition from the stage of learning directly to the path of a career perspective.  

Lecturers

Qualified staff are mostly practitioners who are perfectly familiar with e-commerce issues and current trends in this field. In working with students, they focus on transferring practical applications, analyzing case studies and providing practical skills that allow them to take up work effectively during their studies. Classes are also taught by foreign lecturers who will share their knowledge and experience in the field of e-commerce with the students. 

Cooperation  

The international staff of the program consists of professors from Greece, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Poland. They are all highly qualified academic teachers, as well as e-commerce professionals. You can be sure that you will get the best education at our University!

Infrastructure and location

  • models of using the Internet in commercial and promotional activities of enterprises in a multicultural environment;
  • management of e-commerce and social media projects and their efficient and effective implementation;
  • creating IT solutions for e-commerce;
  • financing of e-commerce projects;
  • analyzing data for e-commerce purposes;
  • consumer involvement in shaping electronic sales channels;
  • preparing promotional campaigns using Google Ads (preparation for Google AdWords certification);
  • measuring the effectiveness of e-commerce activities using Google Analytics;
  • conducting promotional activities in social media;
  • knowledge of legal and financial aspects in virtual space.

After graduation, it is possible to work as:

  • e-commerce specialist;
  • e-commerce project coordinator;
  • an internet marketing specialist;
  • administrator of e-commerce platforms;
  • e-commerce analyst;
  • expert and consultant in the electronic business sector (IT industry, e-commerce);

After what studies you can join us

The candidates to the Master Program in E-commerce are required to have a Bachelor degree and good knowledge of English (at least B2). We invite all those who want to develop their interests in IT, economic analytics, mathematics, etc. Haven't you studied economics before? Nothing is lost! For candidates, we offer a remedial course, thanks to which you will perfectly implement IT and business issues!

2. Scan the following required documents

  • original diploma of higher education - at least Bachelor's degree (check the recognition rules), legalized or bearing an apostille;
  • original diploma supplement / transcript of records legalized or bearing an apostille;
  • sworn translation of the diploma and its supplement / transcript of records into English or Polish;
  • certificate confirming your proficient command of English(list of certificates);
  • passport;
  • document confirming the right to study under the same tuition fee conditions as Polish citizens (if applicable);
  • individual recognition statement on your diploma issued by NAWA (Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange) - a document confirming that your education entitles you to continue education at the Master/second-cycle level. It is required only if your education is not automatically recognized in Poland (check the recognition rules).

Upload the documents to the IRK application system.

3. Pay the application fee

  • Pay the application fee in the amount of PLN 85 or EUR 20
    (the bank account number is available in the application system);
  • Upload the payment confirmation into your account
    (in the section where you uploaded all your documents);
  • Once the payment is credited to the University's bank account, your application will be further processed and verified.

4. Wait for the decision and pay the tuition fee

After your application has been successfully verified, you will receive details regarding the online interview for candidates. Please, refer to the section below for information on possible exemptions.*

After you are qualified for a chosen program, you will receive a payment notification for the first year tuition fee. When we confirm the transfer, we will issue the acceptance letter which can be used for your visa application. In case of visa refusal each student can get a full tuition fee refund (bank may charge some fees for the transfer). The refund will be made to the account indicated by the applicant. You must provide us with the information necessary to make the transfer on the special form and attach the visa refusal letter.

Exemptions from the interview for second-cycle candidates:

  • Finance and Accounting for Business: Graduates of the University of Economics in Katowice, regardless of their field of study, as well as graduates of other economic universities or first- and second-cycle studies in economics and related fields at universities within the European Union, are exempt from the qualification interview, provided they can document their English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
  • Quantitative Asset and Risk Management (ARIMA): Graduates of higher education institutions from the European Union who have completed first- or second-cycle studies and have obtained at least 15 ECTS credits in courses related to quantitative methods, economics and finance during their studies are exempt from the qualification interview, provided they can document their English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
  • E-commerce: Graduates of higher education institutions from the European Union who have completed first- or second-cycle studies in economics or related fields are exempt from the qualification interview, provided they can document their English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

5. Apply for a visa

Apply for a visa in a Polish consulate. You can start the process not sooner than three months before your planned arrival in Poland. Remember to take all of your documents to be legalized by a Polish consul. 

6. Come to Poland and visit the Admission Office at the UE Katowice

Come to Poland before the start of the semester. Visit the Admissions Office and bring all of the original documents with you to have copies made and included in the student’s personal file. The Admissions Office is located in the CNTI building in the room number 2/17, Bogucicka 5 Street, Katowice. If you fail to register for the semester during the registration period, you will not be eligible to attend the University or to proceed with your studies. Please, note that you will have to be within a health insurance scheme that is valid from your first day in Poland. Proof of insurance will be requested when submitting documents.

NOTE: We wramly invite you to take part in Integration Week for incoming international students. The Integration Week will take place from 24th until 30th of September 2025. Integration Week is an important part of preparing for the start of your studies and adapting to the academic environment. Participation in this event is highly recommended.

Note

To enroll in the study program in Poland, you must have valid health insurance (a medical travel insurance whose coverage amounts to not less than EUR 30,000, and covering all expenses that may arise in connection with the need to return for medical reasons, a medical emergency, urgent hospitalisation or death, or medical insurance within the meaning of Polish regulations on health care benefits financed out of public funds).
