Finance and Accounting for Business Double Degree - Master’s Degree Program at UE Katowice

Finance and Accounting for Business is a Master’s degree program delivered in English in cooperation with the University of Business and Society Ludwigshafen (Germany). It aims to equip students with in-depth knowledge, practical skills, and competencies in finance, business, and accounting required by international enterprises. The program includes a 1-month compulsory internship in a foreign or local company.

    Double Degree

    Through the cooperation with the renowned Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society, Master degree students of Finance and Accounting for Business are offered a unique opportunity to obtain a double diploma!

    By studying one semester at a partner university in Germany, FAB students can, in addition to a Polish diploma,  also receive a diploma from Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society facilitating their further career on the German and international labour market.

    Program structure 

    The studies are aimed at acquiring extensive knowledge and competencies by the students in: 

    • financial management;
    • international finance;
    • strategic management and consulting;
    • financial reporting and auditing from an international perspective;
    • international business communication;
    • modern human resources management;
    • financial risk management;
    • corporate tax management;
    • international business law;
    • IT tools necessary for effective analysis of financial data
    • methodology of conducting economic and financial analyses.


    The teaching staff has domestic and international scientific achievements (implemented research projects, participation in international conferences, and prestigious publications) and high didactic competencies gathered by participation in international events, teaching abroad and cooperation with foreign universities. Many teachers have also practical experience in the business and financial sector.

    The teaching methods are oriented towards the inclusion of students into the didactic process. They include interactive problem-based teaching, case studies, group discussions, team-building exercises, group work, and student presentations. Teachers aim to facilitate students’ activities, which suit the philosophy of graduate learning. The problem-based teaching approach challenges students to develop the ability to think critically and formulate their own opinions and solutions.


    The Faculty of Finance has received the ACCA accreditation (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) - the largest and fastest-growing organization of finance and accounting professionals. ACCA currently has more than 241,000 fully qualified members. In line with its belief that accountancy is vital for economies to grow and prosper, ACCA works around the world to advance the profession and make society fairer and more transparent.


    The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) is the world’s leading and largest professional body of management accountants. Being part of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, it brings together members and students from 192 countries who hold key positions in the business world.


    The program includes a 1-month compulsory internship in a foreign or local company during the last semester. The companies in which the students have completed their internships:

    Infrastructure and location

    The university's extensive infrastructure is at your disposal: modern libraries, multimedia rooms, a swimming pool, a gym, relaxation zones, free parking lots, and Wi-Fi. If you cannot visit us now - take a virtual walk around the campus.

    The campus is located in the city of Katowice, the capital of the Silesian Voivodeship and the heart of Metropolis inhabited by over 2 million people. Katowice is a city of dynamic transformations, open to changes and attracting young people. It is a great place to study, live, work, and spend free time.


    The special structure of the Finance and Accounting for Business program allows for a mobility window. Therefore, the students have a chance to study or have an internship abroad with the support of the Erasmus+ scholarship at over 300 partner universities and companies all over the world.

    After what studies you can join us

    The candidates for the Finance and Accounting for Business Program are required to have a Bachelor degree and good knowledge of English (at least B2 level). We invite everyone interested in finance and accounting motivated to gain valuable experience.

    2. Scan the following required documents

    Prepare your recent passport photograph see requirements.  

    Upload the documents to your application.

    3. Pay the application fee

    • Pay the application fee in the amount of PLN 85 (approx. EUR 21)
      (the bank account number is available in the application system);
    • Upload the payment confirmation into your account
      (in the section where you uploaded all your documents);
    • When the payment will be noted on the University's bank account, your application will be furtherly processed and verified.

    4. Wait for the decision and pay the tuition fee

    After positive verification of your application, we will invite you for an interview. After obtaining a positive result of the interview you will receive a payment notification for the first year tuition fee. When we confirm the transfer, we will issue the acceptance letter, which can be used for your visa application. In case of visa refusal each student can get a full tuition fee refund (bank may charge some fees for the transfer). The refund will be made to the account indicated by the applicant. You must provide us with the information necessary to make the transfer on the special form and attach the visa refusal letter.

    5. Apply for a visa

    Apply for a visa in a Polish consulate. You can start the process not sooner than three months before your planned arrival in Poland. Remember to take all of your documents to be legalized by a Polish consul. 

    6. Come to Poland and visit the Admission Office at the UE Katowice

    Come to Poland before the start of the semester. Visit the Admissions and bring all of the original documents with you to have copies made and included in the student’s personal files. The Admissions Office is located in the CNTI building in the room number 2/17, Bogucicka 5 street, Katowice. If you fail to register for the semester during the registration period, you will not be eligible to attend the University or to proceed your studies. Please note that you will have to be within a health insurance scheme that is valid from your first day in Poland. Proof of insurance will be requested when submitting documents.


    To enroll in the study program in Poland, you must have valid health insurance (a medical travel insurance whose coverage amounts to not less than EUR 30,000, and covering all expenses that may arise in connection with the need to return for medical reasons, a medical emergency, urgent hospitalisation or death, or medical insurance within the meaning of Polish regulations on health care benefits financed out of public funds).
