Marcin Szlomski, an athlete from AZS Katowice, had the honor of being part of the Polish national team that competed in the 32nd Winter Universiade in Turin. It was the first time in 24 years that Polish ice hockey players participated in this prestigious tournament.
The Polish team finished in 10th place, showcasing great determination and commitment throughout the competition. The decisive match against Sweden, which ended in a 3-3 draw, was resolved only in a penalty shootout, where the rivals narrowly came out on top. Participating in the tournament allowed the players, including Marcin, to gain valuable experience on the international stage. Matches against world-class teams were a significant step forward in the development of both the team and individual players.
We congratulate Marcin and the entire team for their dedication, determination, and fighting spirit until the very end. AZS Katowice is proud to have had its representative at such an important sporting event!
