Competition for dissertation and doctoral theses in the field of forced displacement and refugee studies

The Lublin Field Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, in cooperation with Maria Curie-Skłodowska University and the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, announces the second edition of the competition for the best undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral theses in the field of forced displacement and refugee studies.

Through this initiative, the organizers aim to raise public awareness of forced displacement and refugee issues and to draw attention to the challenges faced by those affected. Additionally, participation in the competition is intended to encourage academic research in this field, as well as contribute to the development of initiatives aimed at improving the situation of refugees and forcibly displaced persons.

Applications for the competition can be submitted remotely using the application form. A prerequisite for submission is that the paper on the phenomenon of forced displacement and refugees has been written and successfully defended at any university in Poland between January 1, 2021, and September 30, 2024.

Competition papers should be attached to the application form in PDF format as they were submitted to the university's academic paper database. Applications will be accepted until October 31st (23:59), and the competition results will be announced in mid-December 2024
