World Expo 2025
World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, is one of the largest and most prestigious promotional and global events, where more than 160 countries and regions present their economic, tourist, and cultural offerings. The exhibition takes place on the waters of Osaka Bay on Yumeshima Island and is being organized in Japan for the third time. The theme of the Expo is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” The exhibition is divided into three areas: the World of Pavilions, the World of Water, and the World of Green.
Poland at EXPO 2025
Poland is one of the 160 countries participating in this event. The theme of Poland’s participation is “Poland. Heritage that drives the future.” The Polish Pavilion is the venue for presenting Poland’s offer. The economic promotion program at EXPO 2025 focuses on six strategic industries: agri-food (including AgriTech), medical and pharmaceutical, cosmetics, green technologies (including hydrogen), gaming, and IT/FinTech.
The design of the national pavilion at Expo 2025, prepared by Alicja Kubicka and Borja Martinez from Interplay Architects, is based on the use of wood. Thanks to its arches and curves, the structure has an organic form, evoking the image of a spreading wave of Polish creativity and innovation. The distinctive wooden façade was built using the traditional Japanese joinery technique “Kigumi Koho” – a tribute to both Polish and Japanese traditional architecture.
