On 4 May 2026, at the University of Economics in Katowice, within the EUROWEEK conference, the Didactic Forum 2026 was held under the theme 'Redefining Higher Education - Transitioning from Traditional Models to Future Best Practices'. The event was dedicated to modern teaching methods, inclusivity in education, sustainable development, and practical didactic solutions responding to the challenges of contemporary higher education.
The meeting gathered participants interested in the development of academic teaching and the exchange of good practices in education. The forum was opened by Regina Schalinski, MEd from Studio C, who also moderated the closing session of the event.
The first presentation, titled "Beyond One-Size-Fits-All: Inclusive Teaching Methods", was delivered by mgr Rafał Rydzewski. It focused on inclusive education, understood not as identical treatment of all students, but as creating conditions that enable every person to actively participate in the learning process.
The next presentation concerned the Learn4Green project and was delivered by prof. Susana Paixão, PhD from the Health School of the Polytechnic University of Coimbra. Learn4Green is a European Erasmus+ KA2 strategic partnership aimed at fostering innovation and sharing good practices in higher education. Within the project, four partner institutions from Belgium, Estonia, Portugal, and Croatia developed an international, multidisciplinary online course focused on environment, sustainability, and health. The initiative combines online and on-site learning, practical workshops, soft skills development, and teamwork in international groups.
The third presentation, "Why Project-Based Learning? Authentic Learning in a Simulated Business Environment", was delivered by mgr Beata Malik-Kozłowska, MBA. The speaker presented an example of classes based on Project-Based Learning implemented in a simulated business environment called "Class Market". Students work in international teams on startup ideas, engage with potential customers, develop business concepts, and document their activities in a digital space. This approach supports the development of communication skills, entrepreneurial thinking, teamwork, critical thinking, and reflective learning.
Didactic Forum 2026 provided an opportunity to discuss how the role of an academic teacher is changing and how to design teaching processes that respond to the needs of diverse student groups. The event showed that the future of higher education is based on greater flexibility, international cooperation, the use of technology, inclusive education, and learning through practical experience.
