HM the Rector prof. dr hab. inż. Celina M. Olszak took part in a high-level meeting of rectors and presidents of European universities. Together with HM Rector Professor Sergio Cavalieri, she represented the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance.
The aim of the event was to jointly reflect on and capture the vision of institutional leaders and decision-makers at EU and national level regarding the future of the European Universities initiative. The meeting brought together leaders of European universities engaged in developing international academic cooperation and shaping the future of higher education in Europe.
The programme included, among others, an address by Roxana Mînzatu, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness, as well as debates devoted to the role of the European Universities initiative in completing the European Education Area.
Participants discussed, among other topics, the importance of university alliances in attracting and retaining talent in Europe, modernising higher education systems, developing the European Degree, and strengthening the competitiveness of the European Union in the areas of knowledge and innovation. The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences with representatives of universities from across Europe and to discuss the future of European University alliances.
