Information regarding organization of education in winter semester 2022/2023

Dear Students and Doctoral Students,

After this challenging period which has forced the academic community to pursue remote or hybrid education, we are returning to academic traditions based on the master-student relationship and interpersonal relations of members of the academic community built through meetings within the walls of the university. Therefore, regarding the letter of Her Magnificence Rector Professor Celina M. Olszak to the academic community, in the winter semester of 2022/2023, all classes for undergraduate and postgraduate students and doctoral students will be held traditionally, i.e. on the campus of the University, unless the study program stipulates otherwise.

This decision is in accordance with the current regulations, recommendations of state authorities and the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate. It also stems from concern for quality education and the importance of relations between members of the academic community.

I would also like to inform you that current class timetables are now available on the Virtual University on individual student accounts. First-year students are advised to generate their schedules without logging onto the platform until they are enrolled in the Dean's group. More detailed information is available by following this link.

In addition, all classes in each course (including, but not limited to, lectures, exercises, seminars, foreign language classes and physical education classes) are entered into the Google Classroom e-learning platform. Therefore, you should log into the Google Classroom platform. If you do not receive an email invitation to attend a class, you should contact the teaching instructor who conducts the course.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that the University has established an international service center, as well as an integration center for Polish and foreign students and staff. It is a transnational meeting space where foreigners can establish and maintain relationships with the entire University community. They can also seek information and assistance in getting to know the region, the city and the University, how to find accommodation, legalize their stay or nostrify their diplomas. Welcome Point is a place open to all who appreciate the values and benefits of working together in an international environment. You are cordially invited to visit it.

For the upcoming academic year, I wish you all the best, fulfillment of your dreams and passions, and growth both personal, academic and professional. I am convinced that studying at the University of Economics is one of the most formative periods in your life. It is a time to make and nurture long-lasting friendships, acquire comprehensive knowledge, develop talents, take on unique challenges and collect unforgettable memories. And to our new Students and Doctoral Candidates who are just beginning their studies at the University, I wish this year to be the beginning of an unforgettable and wonderful adventure.

Kind regards,

Prof. Sławomir Smyczek Ph.D.
Vice-rector for Education and International Relations
