On behalf of the Katowice - City of Science Academic Consortium, we cordially invite you to the Inter-University Inauguration of the Academic Year 2022/2023 organized jointly by Silesian public universities in cooperation with the city of Katowice. The ceremony will be held on September 30, 2022 (Friday) at 10 a.m. at the headquarters of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice (NOSPR) (Wojciech Kilar Square 1).
Ceremony program:
- ceremonial march of the academic processions

- inauguration speeches
- matriculation and oath of doctoral students
- opening lecture by Professor Michael Matlosz, President of EuroScience, entitled "Transitioning together: universities, cities and regions acting to create positive change for all"
Concert program:
- National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice

- Krzysztof Książek – grand piano
- Wojciech Kilar – Piano Concerto No. 2, "Krzesany"
Academic choirs will perform during the official part of the inauguration: the Academic Choir of the Silesian University of Technology, Medical University of Silesia Choir, the Choir of the University of Economics in Katowice and the Choir of the Institute of Musical Arts at the University of Silesia.

The "Mute" Choir of the University of Silesia, conducted by Anna Wojtas-Rduch, M.A., will also participate in the inauguration. Musical pieces performed by the choirs will be simultaneously translated into sign language.
The event is held under the honorary patronage of:

- the Minister of Sport and Tourism
- the Minister of Health,
- the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship
- the Chair of the Management Board of Metropolis GZM
Participation in the ceremony
Participation in the inauguration is possible after completing the registration form in advance. Registration must be completed by September 16, 2022. Places are limited, and participation is determined on a first-come, first-served basis.

During registration, people with disabilities have the opportunity to request assistance or other individual needs concerning participation in the ceremony.
The event takes place in the building of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, which meets the highest standards of architectural accessibility.
People with hearing impairments can benefit from assistive listening technologies along with Polish Sign Language translation.
Live subtitles in Polish and English will be available during the ceremony. Participants in the event will be able to view subtitles in the language of their choice on their mobile devices:
