On September 29, the second joint Inauguration of the Academic Year will be held at 4:00 pm in the concert hall of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice under the slogan “Year of Science in the Silesian Voivodeship”. The theme of the Inauguration refers to the announcement by the Silesian Regional Assembly naming the year 2023 the Year of Science in the Silesian Voivodeship.

Registration for the ceremony must be made by September 22, 2023.
Accessibility for all
The building of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) was chosen as the venue for the Inter-University Inauguration of the academic year 2023/2024 – "Year of Science in the Silesian Voivodeship" meets the highest standards of architectural accessibility. People with mobility impairments should not encounter any difficult obstacles to overcome there.
State-of-the-art assistive technologies have been used to increase accessibility for people with sensory disabilities.
Access and parking
In theZone of Culture where the NOSPR building is located, parking lots with clearly marked parking spaces for people with disabilities are available. These spaces are located at the closest possible distance from the main entrance. Parking there is free of charge for those entitled to it.
In justified situations, the event organizer provides the opportunity to drive a disabled person by car to the very front door. It is requested, nonetheless, that cars be left in designated parking spaces..
The road leading from parking spaces for people with disabilities to the building entrance is paved and free of abrupt level changes.
The venue can be reached by public transportation. The nearest bus stop is called "NOSPR Zone of Culture" and is very close to the main entrance of the building.
Entrance area and communication in the building
Entrances to the building are accessible from the sidewalk level. The building is accessed by a self-opening revolving door. Those who wish to do so can also enter through traditional swing-opening doors.
The floor surfaces are flat, with no level changes. Vertical communication for the audience is provided by wheelchair-accessible elevators. Seating for wheelchair users is provided in the auditorium.
Infrastructure
The facility is equipped with toilets adapted to users with disabilities. A room for nursing mothers is available in the building, where infants can also be comfortably changed.
Communication accessibility
The main language during the event will be Polish.
During the event, it will be possible to access live subtitles provided in Polish and English.

The acoustics in the NOSPR concert hall are very good, but assistive systems are also available. Please notify the organizers in advance if you need such assistance.
