On September 16, 2026, Welcome Point hosted the inaugural meeting for volunteers joining the new edition of the Uni Buddy program, attended by 20 students from Poland and abroad who will help out fellow students in the academic year 2026-2027.
As highlighted during the meeting, the program’s mission is to help newly arriving students adapt to their new environment - both the academic setting and life in the metropolitan area and Poland in general. The initiative is based on peer support, creating a friendly and safe space to ask questions, receive practical assistance, and make new connections.
For many years, the Welcome Point Team, as part of the Internationalization Office, has been responsible for recruiting participants and coordinating the Uni Buddy program. The Team supports volunteers at every stage of the program and coordinates activities related to the integration and support of international students.
The official part of the meeting was concluded with a discussion of the Team’s upcoming activities. The first major task this year’s volunteers will take part in is the Integration Week for international students, scheduled for September 21-25, 2026.
During the integration part organized by the Internationalization Office, the participants joined in a ‘speed friending’ game, which involved quick icebreaker conversations in pairs. The day culminated with pizza and a less formal opportunity for further bonding.
