The Dean of School of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies Prof. Justyna Ganassali, Ph.D., D.Sc. invites to an open lecture by Dr. Peter Holowka. A lecture entitled "What the Next Generation of Executives Should Know in Preparation for a Changing World" will be held on November 30th at 3:20 pm in the CNTI auditorium and online.
Lecture description
Change is a constant in today’s technologically advanced and geopolitically interconnected world. This statement also applies to senior executive leadership positions. Senior leaders eventually turnover (retirement, relocation, etc.). This creates opportunities for new people to enter those desirable and competitive roles. What are the qualities that organizations look for in the current, post-pandemic context? What distinguishes the most exemplary candidates? This presentation will share with the audience the qualities that teams and organizations value. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, it will provide recommendations for management students who are early in their careers so that they can shape their strategies accordingly.
Speaker description
Dr. Peter Holowka is passionate about digital transformation and technology leadership, particularly in education. His doctoral research was in cloud computing adoption and organizational leadership. His professional work and academic research centre on the digital transformation journey, particularly the journey from legacy systems towards the cloud. He has received multiple awards for leadership and academic excellence. In 2020, he was recognized as Member of the Year by the CIO Association of Canada, and currently serves as the President of the Vancouver Chapter. Beginning his career as a network and web design specialist, Dr. Holowka also advises a number of businesses, educational institutions, and not-for-profit organizations.
