Dear Sir/Madam,
With regard to the upcoming summer examination session at our University, I would like to draw your attention to several issues related to the conduct of credits and exams in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree studies, both in full-time and part-time modes.
Examination Session at UE Katowice: The examination dates for the summer session have been determined by the Teaching Planning Unit and are available in your class schedules. According to Rector's Order No. 12/2023, all exams are conducted in-person.
Credits:
For full-time studies:
- Elective subjects are conducted remotely,
- Other credits are conducted in-person.
For part-time studies:
- Lectures are conducted remotely,
- Other credits are conducted in-person.
In special cases, upon the decision of the Dean of the School of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies and at the request of the course instructor, it is possible to change the form of a remote credit to an in-person one.
Credits and Exams for International Program Students:
Students who are studying abroad as part of international programs must pass the required courses at the University according to the rules specified in Order 12/23. This means that academic instructors cannot agree with students that an in-person credit/exam will be conducted online.
Recognition of learning outcomes achieved at partner universities, based on the submitted Transcript of Records, is carried out by the Dean after obtaining prior approval from the academic teachers of the respective courses and specializations (students arrange this before departure). This means that academic teachers do not enter any grades obtained by the student at the partner university in the protocols. Entries in the Virtual University (protocols) regarding learning outcomes achieved at the partner university are made solely by the dean's office.
