We are proud to announce yet another exceptional achievement by researchers from the University of Economics in Katowice, who have once again been recognized in the prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists ranking. This listing, developed by Elsevier and Stanford University, is one of the most important global rankings, measuring researchers' scientific impact based on the number of citations their publications receive.
Among those honored are outstanding scientists from our university: Prof. Maciej Mitręga and Prof. Ewa Ziemba. Their inclusion in the World’s Top 2% Scientists ranking confirms that the University of Economics in Katowice is an institution that consistently promotes scientific excellence and conducts research at a world-class level. Prof. Ewa Ziemba appears on the list for the second time, while Prof. Maciej Mitręga makes his debut in the ranking.
Special congratulations go to Prof. Artur Strzelecki, who has been included in this elite group for the fourth consecutive year. His consistent, high-quality scientific achievements have been recognized in a double way – not only did he retain his position in this year’s ranking, but he also received an additional distinction in the category of “career-long impact.” This category honors a sustained and significant contribution to science throughout an entire research career – a rare and exceptional recognition.
In this year’s edition, Prof. Artur Strzelecki achieved an impressive 69th place among all Polish scientists, which is a truly outstanding accomplishment, reflecting his growing recognition on the international stage.
This triple success is a testament to the dynamism and innovation of our academic staff, as well as their international visibility. These recognitions are not only a source of pride for our entire academic community but also serve as an inspiration for students and proof that the research conducted at our university has a real and measurable impact on the global advancement of science.
