Message regarding the operation of the University in the summer semester 2021/2022

Due to the high number of SARS-CoV-2 infections in Poland and in the Silesian Voivodeship, temporary remote learning will be continued until March 20, 2022. The hybrid form of education will be reinstated from March 21, 2022.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

In view of the current epidemic situation in the country and around the world, I would like to introduce the principles of operation of the University of Economics in Katowice in the summer semester of the academic year 2021/2022, which have been developed in consultation with representatives of the academic community.

We have decided that, as a rule, education in the summer semester will be provided in a hybrid form. At the same time, due to the high number of SARS-CoV-2 infections in Poland and in the Silesian Voivodeship, the temporary remote learning will be introduced from February 19 to March 20, 2022, and the non-academic staff will be allowed to work on rotation basis until March 18, 2022.

I would also like to assure you that we follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate. Arrangements concerning the method of course delivery are preceded by a thorough analysis of epidemiological recommendations and numerous consultations with representatives of other Polish universities, including economic universities. Above all, these measures result from a deep concern for the health of all members of the academic community, as well as the quality of education offered by the University. Number of students in each program and the University’s infrastructure are taken into consideration while making such decisions.

Prof. Celina M. Olszak, Ph.D., D.Sc.
Rector
