Third stage of the transition to online education

According to the adopted strategy of the University we are beginning stage 3 of the transition process for distance learning which refers to preparing specific terms for conducting semester credits and examinations with the use of online solutions in the event of the development of the epidemic situation. At the same time we are pursuing with the stage 2 which refers to conducting classes with an active participation of the academic teacher for all student and PhD student groups.

Based on Rector’s Order No 39/20 dated 1st April 2020 on verification of learning outcomes:

  1. Due to the introducing didactic classes in the University with the use of IT tools for remote communication, verification of the learning outcomes specific for a course may be organised outside University premises with the use of IT technology securing control of the verification process of the learning outcomes and its registration.
  2. Verification of the learning outcomes applies to:
    1. Students of the first and second cycle programmes and PhD students who have been granted the right for 2019/2020 winter examination session extension until 30 June 2020,
    2. Students of the first and second cycle programmes, PhD students and students of post-diploma programmes in the summer semester of 2019/2020.

According to the regulations of the Order all academic teachers conducting classes will do their best to prepare proper didactic materials applicable for distance learning, providing all the students workload related to the number of teaching hours specified in the study programme. Considering the possibility to change mandatory literature and methods for verification the learning outcomes including the form of credits and examination which apply to the distance learning, please follow information from academic teachers on daily basis. Information on the changes shall be given in advance to enable you to learn about the solutions and test recommended tools.

According to the regulations of the Order, introducing solutions for online verification of the learning outcomes and suspending the form of traditional classes do not change the fees for educational services applicable for 2019/2020 academic year.

Apart from recommended by the University solutions based on applications belonging to the Google G-Suite (e.g. Classroom, Meet, Chat, Forms), the teacher may also use other tools for distance learning (e.g. Microsoft Office 365, Cisco Webex) supported where needed with communication platforms (such as WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook). Shortly on the University website there will be space provided to share good practices among teachers and students aiming at exchanging knowledge and experience within best solutions for distance learning.
