As part of the upcoming 2nd BAUHAUS4EU Forum, the University of Economics in Katowice is hosting the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) "Future Skills for Beautiful & Sustainable Regions" - an international and interdisciplinary educational initiative bringing together 33 Bachelor, Master and PhD students from all partner universities of the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance.
Worth 5 ECTS credits, the programme is designed to equip students with future-oriented skills needed to address the complex challenges of regional transformation. Inspired by the principles of the New European Bauhaus, it explores how sustainability, aesthetics and social inclusion can shape more resilient, attractive and inclusive regions.
Working in international and interdisciplinary teams, participants develop innovative solutions to real-world regional challenges, while strengthening their intercultural competencies, creativity, and collaborative skills.
The programme is delivered by an interdisciplinary team of academics and experts from the University of Economics in Katowice. Participants will take part in modules led by dr Hanna Kelm (Leadership Skills Training), mgr Rafał Rydzewski (Design Thinking), mgr inż.Wiktoria Gałecka (Simulation game: "New, Beautiful World"), dr Agnieszka Majorek-Gdula and dr Adam Polko (Workshop: "One Place -Many Interests" focused on public space observation techniques), whose expertise contributes to the programme’s exploration of sustainable regional development.
The programme is coordinated by dr Marta Grybś-Kabocik (content coordinator) and Yelyzaveta Kashlieva (organisational coordinator), ensuring both academic excellence and the smooth implementation of all activities.
The BIP “Future Skills for Beautiful & Sustainable Regions” exemplifies the mission of the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance: fostering innovative education, empowering students to become agents of change, and creating sustainable and beautiful futures for European regions.
The programme is not only an educational experience but also an opportunity to build international networks, exchange ideas, and jointly shape new perspectives on regional development. Through collaboration and experimentation, students contribute to imagining and designing regions that are more sustainable, inclusive and inspiring for future generations.
