I FIR Forum 2024

24 kwietnia br., w godz. 10:00-15:00 w Auli A odbędzie się I FiR Forum - Forum kierunku Finanse i Rachunkowość. Na wydarzenie serdecznie zapraszają: Kurator dr hab. Joanna Błach, prof. UE i menedżer kierunku dr Łukasz Szewczyk. Wydarzenie zostało objęte patronatem JM Rektor prof. dr hab. inż. Celiny M. Olszak.

Celem wydarzenia jest prezentacja aktualnych tematów i wyzwań w obszarze finansów i rachunkowości, zwrócenie uwagi na istotne związki między teorią a praktyką gospodarczą oraz zwiększenie poziomu umiędzynarodowienia studentów kierunku FiR.

W ramach wydarzenia zaplanowano wykłady prowadzone przez doświadczonych praktyków oraz gości zagranicznych - wykładowców z uczelni partnerskich. Ponadto istotną częścią programu będzie debata poświęcona roli i znaczeniu kobiet w finansach, która stanowi jedno z najważniejszych wyzwań świata biznesu.

Prelegenci (opis w j. angielskim)

Silvia Panfilo, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor in Accounting at Venice School of Management (VSM) - Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Her research interests include risk disclosure, enterprise risk management, sustainability accounting, and corporate governance. She is a member of many national (AIDEA and SIDREA) and international (European and American Accounting Association, European Risk Research Network) associations and she has published in many top journals including Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Risk Analysis: An International Journal, Journal of Management and Governance, Business Strategy and the Environment, Accounting in Europe. She is also co-founder of the Sustainability Lab at VSM and member of its Technical Scientific Committee.

Lecture: The lecture will provide the students an overview on corporate sustainability reporting and it will introduce the recent European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) which mandates the sustainability reporting not only to big undertakings. Furthermore, the lecture will provide insights on the brand new European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) that will affect the corporate reporting and the accounting profession in the near future.

Tanja Sinha is full professor of corporate finance at Technical University Ingolstadt, Germany. She received her Ph.D. from Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, holds a Diploma in Business Administration as well as a Master in Business Research. After finishing her doctoral thesis in the area of risk management, she worked in several investment companies, mainly in the area of closed end funds.

Lecture: When companies decide to go public they have to specify whether to do so through an IPO or a DPO. Both approaches result in the company's shares being listed on the stock exchange, but show quite different structures. In this lecture both approaches will be presented and analyzed before the reasons for selecting a procedure will be discussed.

Dr Krishanthi (Krish) Vithana is an Associate Professor in Accounting in Southampton Business School  at the University of Southampton. Krish completed her Doctoral studies in Durham University Business School and Joined Southampton Business school in 2015. Her focus of research is Accounting for Human capital resource in organizational context. She also research in areas including accountability in relation to environmental social and governance performance and disclosure, market-based valuations on ESG and sustainability and the Real living wage. She has published her research in reputed academic journals including, Journal of Business Ethics, Accounting Forum, and The International Journal of Human Resource Management. Krish has been the principal investigator for the ESRC IAA funded research projects entitled “Investment case on real living wage accreditation” and “Incorporating the broad ESG agenda in investment analysis: case of climate related engagement”. Krish has actively engaged with industry partners including the Global Responsible Investment team of Aviva Investors, Living Wage Foundation and Platform Living wage financials.

Paweł Czajkowski is a finance professional with strong quantitative background and distinct interest in investment products. He has gained extensive experience in fund structuring as well as asset and wealth management. In his current role, Paweł is leading product governance and pricing within the HSBC Global Private Banking and Wealth (GPB&W), which provides investment products and services to affluent individuals across the globe. Before joining HSBC, Paweł worked as a portfolio manager at a Munich-based asset management firm Assenagon S.A., where he was also responsible for coordinating new fund launches. Throughout his career, Paweł gained strong expertise in product management and quantitative investments. He has broad knowledge of investment products in all liquid asset classes including equity, fixed income, credit and FX. Paweł obtained his M.Sc. degree in Mathematical Finance and Actuarial Sciences at the Technical University of Munich and is a CFA® (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder.

Marek Baca has 15 years of professional experience in the banking sector (model development & analytics, risk management, and pricing), consulting & advisory business, and daytrading. At his current role, Marek manages investment models that have billions of USD in assets under management. During his career, he was developing credit risk models for global banking portfolios and market risk models for different financial instruments. He was also responsible for independent validation of credit and stress testing models and independent valuation of derivatives and share-based payments. Marek graduated from the University of Economics in Katowice in 2012 (ARIMA programme) and got Professional Risk Manager (PRM) designation in 2015.
