An expert visits the Corporate Social Responsibility classes
On November 21, 2024, we hosted Professor Johannes Jäger from the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna, who gave a lecture entitled "Understanding Green Finance" as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility classes led by dr Agnieszka Skręt-Bednarz.
Our guest is a valued expert in the area of just transition. His research focuses on critical international political economy, global finance, regional development, European integration and South and Latin America. He is a member of the working group and advisor of the Austrian Panel for the Climate Change Report, a regular reviewer of leading international journals. He has received numerous awards, including the Medal of Honor of the University of Valparaiso (Chile) and the Kurt Rothschild Award. He is the director of the Department of Economics at the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna.
Professor Jäger visited our university at the invitation of dr hab. Ewa Dziwok, prof. UE, with whom he has been conducting many years of scientific cooperation. Together they are co-authors of the book "Understanding Green Finance" published in 2024.
As part of a lecture for students of the first semester of the Master's degree program in Finance and Accounting for Business, Professor Jäger presented the opportunities and threats related to the green transformation.
