European Master’s in Customer Relationship Marketing (MERCURI) Master’s Degree Program at UE Katowice

MERCURI is a two-year program which focus on the critical nature of relations between customers and companies/brands. The program will familiarize students with the complexity of customer behaviors and their determinants and explain rules, conditions and bases of making market decisions and strategies. As such, the program will allow students to have a broader perspective based on their better understanding of the customer and their relations with companies. 

If you want to study in 4 countries (Poland, Italy, Germany, Spain), are interested in marketing and want to gain practical knowledge - MERCURI is for you. You will gain knowledge in the field of marketing, build an international contact network, and you will also have the opportunity to obtain diplomas from all four universities - University of Economics in Katowice, Aschaffenburg University of Applied Science, University of Bergamo and CEU Cardenal Herrera University.

Program structure 

Study takes place in the four partner European universities: University of Bergamo (Italy), Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), CEU Cardenal Herrera University (Spain), University of Economics in Katowice (Poland). Each semester is carried out in a different country.

Classes are conducted in English in the form of lectures, classes, language courses and seminars. Students are also required to cooperate with enterprises and implement consulting projects and internships. The lecturers use interactive methods, specialized computer software and also methods based on the concepts of "experiential learning" and "intensive program".

Lecturers

During studies, methods such as experiential learning, case study based learning, interactive classes, on-line classes and intensive programs are used. There are also classes conducted by highly qualified academics and practitioners, and students need to work on a consultancy project and carry out the internship.

Infrastructure and location

Studies take place in the four universities’ partner countries. Each semester is carried out in a different country. At the University of Economics in Katowice extensive infrastructure is at your disposal: modern libraries, multimedia rooms, swimming pool, gym, relaxation zones, free parking lots and Wi-Fi. If you cannot visit us now - take a virtual walk around the campus. The campus is located in the city of Katowice, the capital of the Silesian Voivodeship and the heart of Metropolis inhabited by over 2 million people. Katowice is a city of dynamic transformations, open to changes, attracting young people who associate their future with Poland. It is a great place to study, live, work and spend free time. 

Competences after graduation 

Students will get an in-depth, international level of teaching and practical training in European economics, management, marketing, consumer law, customer psychology, behavior, and research but also students will have the chance to develop soft skills in communication, intercultural management or leadership. They will be provided with the strong knowledge base and hands on research experience needed for succeeding in careers such as customer relationship management, marketing, media, communications, advertising, consumer research, entrepreneurship or public relations.

Job opportunities after graduation 

The graduates can look for opportunities in domains such as banking, finance, accounting, insurance, law, sales, marketing, IT or sectors such as manufacturing, management consulting, public sector, research and consulting worldwide. 

Career possibilities include the positions: Marketing manager, Customer Scientist, e.g.: Manager-Client Servicing, Customer Relationship Manager, CRM. These managers will be able to: analyze and explain specific needs and preferences of contemporary consumers; understand their behaviors and decision-making processes (from information seeking to after sales evaluation) and identify factors determining the creation and the development of relations between consumers and companies or brands; design and implement diverse types of marketing programs and actions to ensure that all stages of the relationship between consumers and the company are developed in an efficient and satisfactory way.

After what studies you can join us

The candidates to the MERCURI Program are required to have a Bachelor degree and good knowledge of English (at least B2). We invite all those who are interested in marketing, want to gain valuable experience and travel during their studies. We are waiting for graduates of social and economic faculties, incl. sociology, management, economics.

The recruitment process takes place in consultation with the partners of the Mercuri consortium, where previously achieved results from Bachelor studies can be taken into account.

How to apply

1. Log into the IRK application system

Learn more about tuition fees, terms and conditions of studying. Log into IRK application system, choose your study program, fill in the application form and follow the steps below.  

2. Scan the following required documents

Prepare your recent passport photograph see requirements.  

Upload the documents to your application.

3. Pay the application fee

  • Pay the application fee in the amount of PLN 85 (approx. EUR 21)
    (the bank account number is available in the application system);
  • Upload the payment confirmation into your account
    (in the section where you uploaded all your documents);
  • When the payment will be noted on the University's bank account, your application will be furtherly processed and verified.

4. Wait for the decision and pay the tuition fee

After positive verification of your application, we will invite you for an interview. After obtaining a positive result of the interview you will receive a payment notification for the first year tuition fee. When we confirm the transfer, we will issue the acceptance letter, which can be used for your visa application.

5. Apply for a visa

Apply for a visa in a Polish consulate. You can start the process not sooner than three months before your planned arrival in Poland. Remember to take all of your documents to be legalized by a Polish consul. 

6. Come to Poland and visit the Admission Office at the UE Katowice

Come to Poland before the start of the semester. Visit the Admissions and bring all of the original documents with you to have copies made and included in the student’s personal files. The Admissions Office is located in the CNTI building in the room number 2/17, Bogucicka 5 street, Katowice. If you fail to register for the semester during the registration period, you will not be eligible to attend the University or to proceed your studies. Please note that you will have to be within a health insurance scheme that is valid from your first day in Poland. Proof of insurance will be requested when submitting documents.

Note

To enroll in the study program in Poland, you must have valid health insurance (a medical travel insurance whose coverage amounts to not less than EUR 30,000, and covering all expenses that may arise in connection with the need to return for medical reasons, a medical emergency, urgent hospitalisation or death, or medical insurance within the meaning of Polish regulations on health care benefits financed out of public funds).
