An expert visits the Research Club meeting
On December 11, 2024, another meeting with a practitioner was held as part of the activities of the "Start-Up" Research Club operating at the Department of Corporate Finance and Insurance. The speaker at the meeting was Jakub Michalak - a qualified restructuring advisor (license number 1156) and economist. He serves as a bankruptcy trustee, administrator and supervisor in restructuring proceedings. He is also a court expert at the District Court in Katowice, specializing in enterprise valuation and insolvency examination. As an interim manager, he deals with crisis management and business and restructuring consulting. He has experience in conducting dozens of bankruptcy and restructuring cases, including pre-pack projects and proceedings involving significant financial liabilities. He is the vice-president of the management board and partner of the KMS Law Firm, with which he has been associated since 2012. He advises entrepreneurs and managers on restructuring strategies in situations of insolvency or insolvency threat. He specializes in business valuation for bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings, including pre-pack liquidation.
