Participation of Department employees in the 2026 Conference of Departments of Finance
The 2026 Conference of Departments of Finance (KKF2026) took place in Sopot from September 20 to 22, 2026. The conference’s overarching theme was "Finance of the Future - In the Shadow of Global Tensions."
KKF2026 served as a forum for the exchange of knowledge and research findings regarding the transformation trajectories of contemporary financial systems amidst a turbulent environment. The conference aimed to provide an "in-depth analysis of the determinants shaping the future architecture of the financial order, with particular emphasis on globalization processes, the reorientation of economic policy, and digital innovations affecting market stability and capital allocation mechanisms."
During the conference, members of the Department presented the following research:
- Dr hab. Joanna Błach prof. UE, dr inż. Iwona Gorzeń-Mitka, and dr Małgorzata Lipowicz: Mechanisms of transmitting stakeholder pressure to the effectiveness of corporate ESG transformation - the role of ESG integration and initial transformation costs. The research was conducted as part of the project "Corporate ESG Transformation - Financial and Managerial Perspectives," co-financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education under the "Regional Initiative of Excellence" program.
- Dr Agnieszka Skręt-Bednarz: Assessment of the impact of the non-interest tax shield in the form of a special economic zone tax exemption on corporate capital structure decisions. The study was funded by a subsidy allocated for individual projects by early-career researchers.
- Mgr Krzysztof Pałęga: Determinants of corporate insolvency in the Silesian Voivodeship, taking into account the micro- and macro-economic environment characteristic of the region's economy. The study was funded through the project "Determinants of corporate insolvency in the Silesian Voivodeship, taking into account the micro- and macro-economic environment characteristic of the region's economy," co-financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education under the "Regional Initiative of Excellence" program.
