Participation of department employees in the 8th Silesian Science Festival
On December 7-9, 2024, the 8th Silesian Science Festival took place, which had a unique character because it was part of the events in Katowice - the European City of Science 2024.
On December 9, 2024, as part of the Silesian Science Festival, at the Market of Ideas of the City of Science, on the Business Stage, dr hab. Joanna Błach and dr Małgorzata Lipowicz gave a popular science lecture "Financial ZOO". The speech took the form of an interactive multimedia presentation, which presented the meaning of various concepts referring to the animal world used in financial slang.
It explained what connection bees, cows, pigs and dolphins have with money. Animals also appeared as participants in the financial market, i.e. bulls and bears, pigeons and hawks, and unicorns! The lecture ended with a review of fascinating alternative investments and purchases of the most expensive animals that can become a source of wealth.
