The 2nd Abu Dhabi-Poland Business Forum, an accompanying event to the 15th European Economic Congress, took place at the International Congress Center in Katowice on May 9.
This very special event was officially opened by Jakub Chełstowski, Marshall of the Silesian Voivodeship between 2018 and 2024, and Rashed Al Blooshi, Undersecretary, Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED). During the session on cooperation between the Silesian Voivodeship and the Abu Dhabi Emirate, our University was represented by Marcin Kraśniewski, Ph.D., from the Department of Energy Transition.
Opening the meeting, Jakub Chełstowski recounted the history of establishing relations with the representatives of the United Arab Emirates and expressed the hope that the budding cooperation would bring many economic benefits and good relations at the diplomatic level. Rashed Al Blooshi, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, spoke next, expressing his satisfaction with the goals achieved by combining forces.
UAE Ambassador Mohamed al Harbi, Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, CEO of the Upper Silesian Fund SA Bartłomiej Babuśka, and Polish Ambassador to the UAE Jakub Sławek welcomed the assembled session participants.
The Upper Silesia Fund and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed an agreement next, followed by the first session with invited guests.
The second part of the meeting, "Abu Dhabi-Poland Business Forum", was attended by Dr. Marcin Kraśniewski, who spoke about our University's activities and cooperation with universities in the United Arab Emirates.
