On March 13-14, 2025, the 5th edition of the International Women’s Day Conference in Economics, Finance, and Management (IWD) took place, bringing together academic researchers to celebrate International Women’s Day by promoting pluralism in economics, finance, and management. The event aimed to foster an atmosphere conducive to effective networking, establishing new contacts, and developing international scientific cooperation. The main thematic areas included:

The conference opened on March 13 with a formal inauguration. Guests were welcomed by Vice-Rector for Science and Academic Staff Development prof. dr hab. Maciej Nowak, and dr hab. Julia Włodarczyk, prof. UE. Participants then had the opportunity to attend a keynote lecture by prof. Eva Sierminska from the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research on inequalities in the economics profession. The speaker provided an analysis of the structural barriers and challenges faced by female economists and discussed ways to overcome them.
Next, dr Thema Monroe-White from George Mason University delivered a lecture highlighting the role of science as a tool for social transformation, emphasizing the need to eliminate biases and promote equality in scientific research.
The afternoon session featured a dynamic panel discussion titled "CECC Climate Vibes – Spring Debates: DECARBONIZE YOUR MINDSET." Moderated by dr hab. Monika Wieczorek-Kosmala, prof. UE, and dr hab.Dominika Bochańczyk-Kupka, prof. UE, the debate brought together distinguished experts Miłka Stępień (CEE Bankwatch Network), Hong T.M. Bui (Birmingham City University), Krishanthi Vithanê (University of Southampton), Xihui Chen (Keele University), Johannes Jäger (University of Vienna).
The panelists addressed key issues related to decarbonization and the need for a mindset shift in tackling climate change.
The second day of the conference began with a lecture by dr Michael Christofi (Cyprus University of Technology, Vilnius University) on the role of Digital Chief Officers. The speaker outlined key aspects of digital management and identified future research directions in this rapidly evolving field.
The final session featured an online keynote by prof. Lauren F. Klein from Emory University, titled "Doing AI Differently: Lessons from Intersectional Feminism." Dr Klein explored how a feminist perspective can contribute to a more ethical and inclusive development of artificial intelligence.
The conference provided participants with valuable insights and inspiration to continue addressing the pressing challenges of today’s world. The event underscored the importance of an interdisciplinary approach and the necessity of collaboration among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers in striving for a more just and sustainable future.

Część zdjęć ukazuje także uważnych słuchaczy i słuchaczki w audytorium, a także nieformalne momenty rozmów, refleksji i wymiany doświadczeń. Obecność kamer i sprzętu nagraniowego sugeruje rejestrowanie wystąpień, co podkreśla profesjonalny charakter wydarzenia.
