A visit of Children at our University

On June 6, 2022 we hosted students from the Ks. Józef Londzin Primary School in Zabrzeg, along with their teachers.

After being welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Education and International Cooperation, Prof. Sławomir Smyczek, Ph.D, the children started the tour of the university. They visited the Specialist Library, completed a world-map puzzle, and toured the university campus. A kid-friendly lecture on savings and investments was delivered by Łukasz Szewczyk, Ph.D, from the Department of Banking and Financial Markets. Jerzy Stasica, the manager of the "Silesianie" Song and Dance Ensemble of the University of Economics in Katowice, talked about the traditions of Polish dances, costumes and old instruments. The youngest students had the opportunity to test their English skills at the Welcome Point and talk to students from Africa and China. The group also visited the Rectorate building, including the Senate Hall and patio, amongst other things.

At the end of the meeting, the Vice-Rector presented the students with a certificate of completion of their first classes at the University of Economics in Katowice.
